Iligan City, PHILIPPINES -Architect Gil Balondo said in a press conference at city hall last week that Iligan City can expect economic development with the completion of the Iligan – Bukidnon Road Project.
Balondo, City Planning and Development Coordinator said that business transactions in Iligan City are only 30% due to limited routes to other provinces and cities.
He said that the route is only up to Cagayan de Oro City to the North and up to Zamboanga or Dipolog cities going to the South.
With the opening of the Iligan-Bukidnon Road, an agricultural highway will be made available for Iligan City going to Bukidnon that will connect to Davao and the CARAGA region.
Balondo said Congressman Vicente “Varf†Belmonte, Jr. and Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz continue to give priority to the Iligan-Bukidnon Road and projects such as the Water Expansion Project, Central Materials Recovery and Composing Facility, Circumferential Road 3, Drug Treatment and Rehab Center and others.
